Bio

Koosha Hakimi is an Iranian American musician and composer who is known for his fresh and innovative approach to playing drums and piano and composing story telling music.
​
He started playing piano at age six and later on picked up drums in highschool. He moved to the U.S when he was only nineteen years old and was able to adjust and thrive quickly in the local music scene.
​
Transferring from a Palomar community college in San Marcos CA, Koosha graduated from UC Irvine in 2018 with a Bachelor of Music Performance in Jazz Drums where he studied with
world-class musicians such as Jason Harnell (Maynard Ferguson), Kei Akagi ( Miles Davis) and Darek Oles (Brad Mehldau) to name a few.

Since then he has been teaching and performing with local legends in Southern California
His early band is called the Dapper Bandits and now he publishes his music as a solo artist under his name.

Koosha has performed extensively in Southern California with artists such as Kei Akagi(Miles Davis), Christopher Hollyday (Brad Mehldau), Gunnar Biggs (Tommy Flanagan), Mikan Zlatkovich(Chet Baker), Irving Flores(Pancho Sanchez), Bob Boss (Eddie Harris) David Borgo, Rob Thorsen, Alan Eicher(Charles McPherson), Leonard Patton (Pat Metheny) and many more.
